We tried something new this fall and it was absolutely fabulous! In September we went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Eastern Caribbean islands including St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Royal Caribbean’s own private island in the Bahamas, Coco Cay. This was seriously one of the best vacations ever!

We cruised out of Port Canaveral, Florida and spent the next day at Coco Cay. They call it “Perfect Day at Coco Cay” for a reason because it literally was a “perfect day”. Coco Cay has a water park and several beaches with so many opportunities for fun things to do. We spent part of the day at the water park which was super fun. We also enjoyed snorkeling in the ocean and relaxing in the enormous Oasis Lagoon pool.

This was our first full day of the cruise and it honestly could not have been more perfect. The next picture was taken from our balcony as we sailed away from Coco Cay and I was so sad! It was hard to leave there, but there were more ports on our itinerary so it was time to sail on.

The next day was spent at sea while we sailed to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Sea days were lots of fun because there is so much to do on this ship!

There was even an ice skating rink on the ship! One of the best shows we saw on the ship was the ice show. The rink was available for skating when the show wasn’t going on.

Our excursion in St. Thomas consisted of kayaking, hiking and snorkeling. We did this on Jake’s birthday and it was so much fun. What a fun way to spend a birthday, right?

The next day we arrived in St. Maarten which is owned by both the Dutch and the French. Our port was on the Dutch side of the island. We went on an excursion to Rainforest Adventure where we rode a mountain tube slide, went zip lining and rode the Flying Dutchman (the steepest zip line in the world).

They said this is the steepest zip line in the world. It was pretty scary at first, but super fun once I got over the initial drop. Below is a video of Jake and Jesse riding it before Chris and I went.

Next we had two full days at sea until we arrived back in Florida. One of our favorite shows was the Aquatheater show.

One of the highlights of our cruise was the exceptional service in the Main Dining Room. Our friends below made dinner each night such a special treat because they spoiled us rotten! Once we got home we weren’t sure how we were going to live without them at dinnertime. ๐

I really can’t recommend Royal Caribbean highly enough. It was such an awesome week, we can’t wait to go again someday. We are most likely getting off the road soon, more about that later. Who knows, maybe we’ll take up cruising instead. If you know me, you know I have too much wanderlust to stay in one place for too long. ๐
