New Ski Adventures

After spending the prior 3 ski seasons in Breckenridge, Colorado we decided to try Park City, Utah this year instead. We stayed at Mountain Valley RV Resort in Heber City. The weather was a lot warmer than Breckenridge so we did not have nearly as much snow as I would have liked. The rest of my people however really liked the milder temps. I guess they’re just not as hard core snow fanatics like me. 😉

Our good friends, the Schott family were in the area for our first month and we really enjoyed skiing with them as well as having regular game nights. They stayed in Salt Lake City and we enjoyed spending a day there with them at a climbing gym and eating Korean BBQ.

In my opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than snow covered mountains. We didn’t get a lot of snow this year, but when we did it was breathtaking!

We had Epic Passes again for this season which included 2 ski days each at Snowbasin in Utah and Sun Valley in Idaho. We celebrated our March birthdays with a mini vacation at each. I was so excited that it snowed during both of those trips!

While skiing at Snowbasin we stayed at a beautiful condo near Ogden Valley, Utah that had a private hot tub on the back deck with a gorgeous view.

Sun Valley was a little further away in Idaho, but definitely worth the trip. We stayed at the beautiful Sun Valley Lodge.

Well it seems I can’t really stay away from Breckenridge for the entire season, so we spent a couple of weeks there in April once the weather got too warm in Utah. We were so excited to have our good friends from Florida come out to visit us while we were at Breck.

They don’t ski, but Kim was always ready to hit the hot tubs with me when I came back for a lunch break.

It snowed just about the entire time we were there so the skiing was great and the view from our hotel room was fantastic!

We had dinner at this really cool pizzeria with little snow globes to sit in. They serve only plant based food which we were not sure we would like, but it was actually very good.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I just love winter! I love snow and cold weather and skiing; I think I could do this all year long. But unfortunately winter ends and it’s time to move on. We are planning to spend this summer exploring Michigan. I’m hoping to do a better job keeping up with blogging this year, especially since we’ll be going to some new places. Stay tuned…
